Opportunities may include:

  • Attending orientation and training events, field trips, social activities, weekly seminars and opportunities to meet and interact with functional leaders
  • Participating in performance reviews with your manager, who will provide coaching and guidance throughout your internship, as will your assigned mentor
  • Giving a presentation about your work assignment and projects, as well as what you learned from the internship program

Our Communications & Public Affairs (C&PA) organization is an embedded strategic partner with the businesses we serve. We design and deliver strong global communications that are aligned with the company’s overall business strategy. In addition, C&PA upholds best-in-class communications team values, such as demonstrating transparency, ethics and effectiveness in all work. Our work includes developing communication for internal audiences, working with media, disseminating messages to external stakeholders, interacting with our community members, developing digital and social media campaigns, and measuring our communication tactics for effectiveness.

The Phillips 66 Communications & Public Affairs group is seeking to fill two internship positions; one focused on public relations and corporate communications, the other focused on web development and graphic design. An internship with Phillips 66 Communications & Public Affairs provides the opportunity to work on an array of assignment within the Communications department and work with internal and external stakeholders, as well as travel to complete assignments as needed:

  • Opportunity to work amongst the different facets of the C&PA organization including external communications, employee communications, digital media, public policy and stakeholder engagement, community investments and brand reputation
  • Assignments that develop technical and professional skills, and will involve collaboration with various Phillips 66 business functions
  • Written and verbal communication through multiple channels
  • Internship opportunities are located at our headquarters in Houston, Texas

Requirements for a Phillips 66 Internship:

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Relations, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, or Visual Communications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program as a Junior or higher
  • Scheduled to graduate from a degree program August 2018 or later
  • Available for a minimum of eight continuous weeks

Preferred:

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Previous internship or co-op participant in related industry
  • Previous internship with Phillips 66
  • Phillips 66 SHIELD Scholar recipient
  • Willing to work in any of our operating locations
